Looks Scanned — Privacy Policy

Documents and signatures

Documents, imported images, signatures, annotations, and generated PDFs are processed on your device. Looks Scanned does not upload this content to our servers or to RevenueCat. Your local library remains on your device. When you export or share a file, you choose the destination; that destination’s privacy practices apply.

Files selected from a cloud provider through Apple’s Files picker may be downloaded by that provider. Device backups and iCloud backups follow your Apple settings. The app does not provide its own cloud document storage.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes payments. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, manage subscription access, restore purchases, and understand subscription performance. RevenueCat processes a randomly generated app user identifier, purchase and transaction history, subscription status, and technical information needed to operate its service, such as app version, operating system, storefront, and network request information. An anonymous app identifier does not mean purchase records cannot be associated with one another.

We do not receive your payment card details. We do not send document content or signature images to Apple or RevenueCat as part of subscription verification. No account registration is required in Looks Scanned.

Local app diagnostics

A bounded history of up to 200 app interaction events is stored on the device to help check onboarding and purchase behavior. It contains no document text or signature images and is not uploaded to a separate analytics service. Subscription transaction information is processed by RevenueCat as described above.

Permissions and tracking

Camera access is requested when you choose to scan paper documents. You choose the files or photos you import using the system picker. Looks Scanned does not use advertising SDKs, request an advertising identifier, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention and your choices

You can delete documents and signatures in the app. Deleting the app removes its local data; copies you exported and device backups must be managed separately. Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.

Purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat for subscription operation, restoration, fraud prevention, and applicable legal requirements. Contact us with privacy or deletion requests concerning data we control. We may need information sufficient to locate your purchase record; do not send us document contents, passwords, or payment card information.

Support, processing, and rights

If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you include so we can respond. We and our service providers may process information outside your country. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to contact your local data protection authority. Email us to exercise these rights.

Children

Looks Scanned is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app or our data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.

Subscription terms

Subscriptions are governed by the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. Prices, billing periods, and any eligible free trial are shown in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation before you subscribe.
